I am in deep need of a seasonal but gentle spring reset after a long and hard winter, and I believe many of you reading this are as well. In my part of the world, as I’m writing this, it’s already officially spring, and I can feel the energy shifting, both within me and outside.
The start of a new season always makes me want to regroup, especially since winter and spring are such stark opposites, but the transition isn’t always easy.
Most of us are still in winter mode, slowly emerging from hibernation and trying to figure out how to embrace this season with more energy, where there might be none.
So when I was thinking about what to include in this list, I wanted to keep things simple, gentle, and slow. I fully plan to do these activities myself, and I’ll be sharing my journey on Instagram, so make sure to follow me there for more slow living inspo.
Instead of a long list of things you’ll bookmark for “later”, I decided to include only a few small and easy ways to refresh your mind, body, and space for spring.
This is intentional, as I want you to feel motivated to do them, without the overwhelm. Also, feel free to skip whatever doesn’t resonate with you. You can also tweak some of these things to fit your personality and lifestyle.
Now let’s get refreshed and ready for the season of flowers, sunshine, breeze, and slow evenings!

A Slower, Softer Approach to a Spring Reset
A spring reset doesn’t have to feel like a complete life overhaul. You don’t need to become a new person overnight, or suddenly fix everything that felt heavy in winter. Instead of adding more pressure, let’s allow this process to be gentler, slower, and softer.
What in your heart feels ready to shift? What small, natural changes can you make happen over time? A spring reset can be a new beginning, but one that is calm, simple, and easy.
And if you feel like getting more organized in a softer, non-overwhelming way would be helpful for you this spring, my Soft Life Planner is the perfect tool to get you started. Small Spring Rituals That Make Everyday Life Feel Lighter
Sometimes, all it takes for a gentle, soft spring day is a small ritual that will help you ease into the season. Here are some of my favorite small spring rituals that make my days lighter:
- Having a cup of spring tea while looking outside the window
- Getting fresh seasonal fruit from the farmer’s market
- A simple journaling session in the evening
- Listening to a soft, uplifting spring playlist
- Making a simple and sweet spring breakfast
I don’t like to overwhelm myself with anything in life, so I purposely try to make the transition into the new season very slow and aligned with how I feel.

How to Refresh Your Mind This Spring
The transition from winter to a spring mindset can be hard because we feel like we have to jump right into things and activities. But you don’t have to rush into anything – this spring, you’re allowed to ease into it and take your time. If you feel like you don’t want to overschedule yourself, then take it slow and plan your days to feel good, not obligated.
Some of the things that can help you do a gentle mind spring reset are:
A new notebook or journal – You can write down your thoughts, feelings, and goals for the season so they’re on paper instead of always on your mind. I love the soft spring designs on this one and this one.
A new spring playlist – Make a new playlist specifically for spring to inspire you, uplift you, and regulate your nervous system. I have a spring playlist that you can listen to right here!
Digital detox – Spring is the perfect time for a detox of mind, body, and home. Doing a digital detox will help you stay in the moment – in your own life – not the digital version of other people’s lives.
A slow start to the day – When you wake up in the morning, try not to immediately rush into tasks. Notice what feels mentally draining and find a way to either ease the load or gently step back from it.

Simple Ways to Refresh Your Body for Spring
After a long, cold winter, your body also needs a reset for the warmer days. You may start to notice your energy slowly returning, and you can gently support it through creating a simple daily routine that consists of:
Fresh seasonal foods and preparing lighter meals – There’s an abundance of fresh, healthy food in spring, especially fruits and veggies. Our bodies crave richer foods in winter, but spring is the perfect time to start prepping lighter meals using fresh ingredients.
Think fruit bowls with yoghurt and honey, vegetable soups, mixed veggie salads, smoothies, avocado toast, lemon pasta, and so many more!
Nourishing, natural, organic skin care – Winter can be harsh on the skin: the cold air outside and the heating inside can make the skin dry and dull. In spring, we start wearing lighter clothes, and our skin is more exposed to the sun.
This is the time to add some good quality SPF to your skincare routine, as well as some deep hydrating body lotions and products.
These are some of my all-time favorites that smell so fresh and divine!
Intentional movement – Spring weather is perfect for moving your body and getting rid of leftover winter energy. Whether it’s jogging, yoga, gentle stretches, or simple walks in nature, listen to your body and the movement it craves. If you feel like you can’t do hard exercises, honor that feeling and begin with something easier instead.
New gentler habits – When talking about resets, so many of us feel the pressure to change everything about ourselves. So this spring, I invite you to choose gentler habits and routines for yourself, and take it one slow step at a time.

Easy Ways to Refresh Your Space for a Calm Spring Home
My home looks and feels different in winter. Warm blankets, cozy candles, and soft lighting create a sense of comfort and retreat. In spring, that feeling begins to shift. The air feels lighter, the days brighter, and my home naturally starts to open up again. I put up spring home decor, get fresh flowers, and crack the windows open to let the breeze and sunlight in.
I’ve come to realize a spring reset isn’t about switching up everything and transforming your home completely, but about gently transitioning your space from a place of hibernation into one that feels fresh, airy, and alive again.
Here are some of the things I love to do as soon as I notice the first signs of spring:
Opening the windows – Letting fresh air in, both literally and energetically. Sometimes, opening the windows can symbolize opening yourself to a fresh start, new energy, and new beginnings.
Getting new lighter linens for the home – Out with the heavy blankets, in with the floral cushions and lightweight soft bed throws.
Getting fresh flowers – Few things make me happier than a bunch of fresh spring flowers. I love getting them for my kitchen and living room, and switching them up each week or so. Flowers bring so much joy into a space and are a beautiful reminder that spring is here to stay.
Hanging a spring wreath on my door – There’s no better way to invite spring into your home than with a beautiful spring wreath on your front door. Whether you DIY it or get it from the store, this is one of the easiest ways to reset your home for spring.
Putting up new spring home decor – After a busy season of holiday decorations, our homes could use a little space and some soft spring home decor. Whether it’s flowers, floral fabrics, lighter and brighter colors, or themed spring home decor, this is one of those little things that can bring so much freshness into the home.
Creating a Gentle Spring Reset That Actually Lasts
Spring has always been the true new beginning of the year for me. In nature, spring is when everything awakens from deep sleep and light returns, and so, we too should follow the same seasonal rhythms.
I’d love to hear about your own spring reset rituals and routines, so please share them below! Let’s inspire and support each other as we bloom in this season of growth.
