As the days grow shorter and the air starts to smell like snow, I’m slowly preparing to say goodbye to my favorite season. November is my birthday month but it’s also a time in between.
We’re starting to get caught up in holiday preparations, wishing our time away, forgetting to enjoy fall while it still lasts. Before we know it, it’ll slip away gently and we’ll be knees-deep in the cold of winter, longing for one more autumn sunny day.
Before it’s time to trade pumpkin spice lattes for hot cocoa and mulled wine, you can still capture memories and make the best of the final days of fall.
Here are five end of fall activities and soul-soothing things to do in autumn before it’s over.
1. Snuggle up at Home With a Cup of Tea and a Good Book
Autumn = coziness: think warm blankets, fluffy socks, hot tea, and a good book on a gloomy, rainy night. Before winter settles in, choose a day in the week and schedule some self-care time with your favorite book. You can also journal, read a magazine or watch a fall-themed movie or TV show.

2. Spend a Cozy Afternoon at a Local Coffee Shop
Instead of big chain coffee shops, explore small local coffee houses in your area. Choose one with a cozy and comfy ambiance, bring your laptop or a book, and spend an afternoon enjoying some much-needed alone time. Make it a self-care lunch date, order a warm beverage and some food and just enjoy the present moment.
3. Host an Intimate Season-Inspired Dinner
The fire is crackling, you’re serving your guests hot cider, and you’re all enjoying a delicious homemade fall meal. Hosting a season-inspired dinner is one of the most soul-soothing end of fall activities you can do in November. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; a few of your closest friends and family, a nice tablescape, some hot drinks, and seasonal dishes that can easily feed a crowd.

4. Have a Fall-Themed Movie Night
One of my absolute favorite end of fall activities is having a fall-themed movie night. I have a slight obsession with Hallmark movies and even though I know the plot is a cliche, I love the simple stories, movie set decor, and small-town vibes.
Sometimes, I watch a good period drama set in the English countryside or watch fall-themed vlogs on YouTube. A cozy night under a blanket and a cup of tea is all I need to reset my mind and enjoy the last days of fall.
5. Cook or Bake Your Favorite Fall Comfort Food
What better way to savour the flavors of the fall season than by cooking and baking your favorite dishes! Whether it’s pumpkin spice waffles drizzled with maple syrup, a hearty beef stew or a harvest salad packed with seasonal veggies, fall is one of the most bountiful seasons for cooking comfort food!
