May is here and if you’ve been looking for slow living activities and ways to romanticize the month, I’ve got a real treat for you!
While I love lists and love checking off items off, I feel like slow living in May is more about learning to enjoy the last days of spring in a more present, intentional way. So instead of a long list of items that you need to get through, I want to inspire you to create daily rhythms that work with your lifestyle right now.
I want you to get in touch with yourself in this season of your life so you can truly connect with the season we’re in. Spring is about warmth, sunshine, fresh fruit, picnics, evenings out, beautiful sunsets, and long days. But if you’re in a season of life where things feel uncertain, overwhelming, or heavy, picnics and romanticizing things might be the last thing on your mind.
So in this post, I want to help you choose slow living activities that’ll make you feel good, not add more to your plate. And ultimately, I want you to have fun! So let’s get into it!

How To Romanticize Your Slow Living Days In May
I remember back when I was younger, I romanticized my days without even knowing it. I’d wear my favorite perfume just because. I’d buy or pick flowers, grab a fresh pastry from the bakery, and walk the city with no destination in mind. I’d grab a coffee to go, maybe go to some stores to see what’s new, and go home.
At home, I’d read a few pages of a book, light a spring candle, and do some work. I did have a lot more time and freedom than I do now to do these things, but my point is, you can do just one thing for yourself and make your day better.
What does it mean to romanticize things anyway? I think it means noticing the little things in your day you’d usually overlook. It’s so easy to forget about feeling good when out days are a haze of chores, activities, and obligations. We forget to have fun because we think it takes away from something else that’s more important.
But what can be more important than being happy? Even for a moment, even for the tiniest things?
So think about what your days typically look like and see where you can find a pocket of time to do something nice for yourself. I promise you, it’ll do wonders for your emotional well-being!

Slow Living Activities In May
May is the last whisper of spring before summer comes, and I for one want to enjoy every second of it! So here are some slow living activities in May that you can do to help you savor the season:
- Get fresh flowers for the home
- Bake a cake using fresh fruits
- Light a seasonal spring candle
- Drink your morning coffee outside
- Do some journaling
- Write a handwritten letter
- Read a book without distractions
- Listen to a spring playlist
- Take a walk in nature
- Pick up a new hobby
- Declutter a room in your home
- Do a face mask or a spa routine
- Go on a picnic with your family or friends
- Set intentions for the season ahead
While this list may not be very long, it’s only there to inspire you. If you resonate with these things, make it a challenge and do all the slow living activities or just do a few. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you feel good inside.
